Kazakhstan celebrates New Year on January 1.  By the new year, it is customary to decorate the Christmas tree but in Kazakhstan and the European New Year there is a difference on the streets it is rarely possible to meet Santa Claus or the Snow Maiden. At midnight it is customary to sit at the holiday table and then go to friends and relatives to congratulate them.
