2. A man came up to Fred on another bicycle and said: “Had the police taken your driving licence away too?”
3. Jill said: “I’m quite happy at home with my husband Len. I didn’t want to be too busy to had fun.”
4. Bill said: “I will work in the bank, because my uncle has always worked in one. I think the work was easy. Uncle could do it, so I could.”
5. The manager of another bank said: “You might work there for a month. If you were good enough, you could stay after that. You’ll work with Mr.Unwin for the first month. He’ll take you round and train you.”
6. Bill said: “I’m tired to count. If they were correct up to there, they’ll all be correct, won’t they?”
7. The women phoned to the butcher: “I’m sorry, I’m late. But some people had just telephoned to say that they were going to come to dinner tonight and I need some more meat.”
8. The women said: “That piece of meat was too small. Hadn’t you got anything bigger?”
9. Mother thought: “When I’m going to see Joan again? How was she going to live abroad among strangers without her mother near her?”
10. “How do people get such beautiful lawns?”- Mr. Anderson asked. “Ours were never as good as that.”
11. “That’s very interesting. And how long does it take before the lawn becomes like that?”- Mr. Anderson asked.

13. Ted:- I think it was very bad for people. When I was a child we didn’t watch TV every day. But then my children watch silly films every evening, and they didn’t do the work their teachers gave them. What would they do with themselves when they leave school?
14. Sam:- It’s very bad, wasn’t it? But what could we do about it?
15. Mr. Brown was at the theatre and he was sitting in the middle of the group of America ladies who talked and joked all the time.
16. “Well,” answered John, ”if you think about the matter carefully, you’ll see that I’m quite right. When you give somebody good advice, and he takes it, advice was the most valuable thing in the world. But when a person didn’t take your advice, I consider it the most worthless thing in the world.
