Leonardo da Vinci was born in 1452 near the town of Vinci. He was a universal man, who was interested in arts and sciences. He studied painting at the master Verrokio. Leonardo lived in a beautiful castle of Le Clos Lucé in Touraine, where he had ample opportunity to do what he was interested.

Leonardo died in 1519.
