Use Complex Object instead of the subordinate clause:

1. I know that he studies well.

2. We saw how the doctor was examining the patient.

3. He noticed that the condition of the patient became worse.

4. I want that my sister will become a good specialist.

5. We consider that we shall pass examinations very well.

Put the verb in the proper Perfect Continuous tense:

1. The patient’s condition (to become) better gradually since he was admitted to the hospital.

2. The nurse (to give) injections for half an hour.

3. The patient (to suffer) from a bad headache for a week.

Give the words of the close meaning:

ache, diminish, to nourish, state, onset, to perforate

Give the words of the opposite meaning:

to follow, to divide, physical, to be admitted, base, to increase

Find the Absolute Participle Construction; define the form of the Participle. Translate the sentences.

1) The digestion being considerably impaired, the patient constantly complained of epigastric pain.

2) The patient having survived the operation well, the danger of peritonitis was eliminated.

3) The postoperative course was smooth for a week, no recurrence of bleeding being observed.
