Robert Louis Stevenson writer and poet, author of the world-famous adventure novels and novellas, the largest representative of the English neo-romanticism 
Stevenson was born on November 13, 1850 in Edinburgh, in a family of engineers, lighthouse. Secondary education at Edinburgh Academy, university - the University of Edinburgh, where he first studied to be an engineer, received in 1871 for his work "A new kind of flashing light for lighthouses" the silver medal in the contest Scottish Academy, but then moved to the Faculty of Law, graduating in 1875.Stevenson died December 3, 1894 from a stroke on the island of Upolu in Samoa.

Leo Tolstoy was born in 1828 in Yasnaya Polyana (it's 200 km from Moscow). Leo Nikolayevich was one of the greatest writers in the world. He is known for his books "War and Peace", "Anna Karenina" and many more.He moved to Saint Petersburg when he'd left the univercity. When he was tired of gambiling he and his brother joined the army. Also, Leo Nikolayevich was a veteran of the Great Patriotic War of 1812. After war he started to write. He died in 1902, in age of 82.
