The grand national is a horse race which is held every year in liverpool. this involves a four-mile race, during which the horses have to go over 30 fences. the most horse in the grand national was called 'red rum'. he was the of the race three times during the 1970s. the race is not only a sporting event but a social event too. men and women wear beautiful clothes, and the tickets to the race are very the grand national is broadcast all over the world and around 500 to 600 million people watch it. however, though there are lots of horse racing fans, many people think it’s and cruel to make the animals race and jump for people’s entertainment.
