The Grand Bazar in Istanbul is one of the largest and oldest covered
markets in the world with 4,000 shops. Between 250,000 and 400.000
visitors visit this market every day. It is well-known for its jewellery,
hand-painted ceramies. carpets, spices and antique shops. The Grand
Bazar is open from 9:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., and closed on Sundays and
public holidays.
The Osh Barnar is the main market in Bishkek. The market is very
lively. At the Osh Bazaar, one can buy food products, clothes, Shoes,
toys, cleaning products, souvenirs, Kyrgyz national clothes and even
musical instruments. This is the place to get dried fruits and nuts
from all over Central Asia. The apricots and walnuts are local. There
are different kinds of almonds, raisins, pistachios and hazelnuts.
Damnoen Saduak is the largest and the most popular floating market
in Thailand. It's about 100 kilometres from Bangkok. Sellers float in
their small boats and sell tropical fruits and vegetables such as mango,
neapple, fresh coconut and others. Tourists can also try local dishes
e traditional Thai meat and vegetarian dishes like papaya salad.
arket is open every day from about 6.30 a.m. to 11.00 a.m. but
time to visit is in the early morning. It is a very attractive
tourists to see the old style and traditional way of selling
and buying goods.
