The Bolshoi Theatre The Bolshoi Theatre is one of the oldest and most
famous theatres worldwide. Its history dates back to
1776 when, with the permission of Catherine the
Great, a ballet and opera company was founded by
the Russian Prince Urusov and an English theatre
manager Michael Maddox. In the course of its
