Save the planet-take a staycation. A staycation is a kind of holiday. Rather than go on holiday abroad, you stay home and take day trips, by car, train, bus or bicycle but not by plane. In recent years, staycation in the UK have increased by about 25%. Popular destinations are national parks, big cities, or the beach. And at the end of the day you can enjoy sleeping in your own bed.

There are many advantages. “I love going for day trips with my family,” says Lola, aged 14. “It’s really stress free compared with going on a long journey. You don’t have to wait for hours in an airport or worry about losing your bags.”
