Dear Mr. Smith,

I know that tomorrow there is a very important seminar, and I promised I would attend. But this week has been a very difficult one with our new project, and I haven't slept well. I have got a terrible headache, any kind of medicine doesn't help. I have an appointment with my doctor tomorrow. I hope for understanding.
