1. Tim was angry; he was waiting for us since seven o'clock! We apologized and then promised not to be late again.

In this sentence, we need to use the past continuous form of the verb "to wait" because Tim was waiting for us. The past continuous form is formed by using the past tense of "to be" (was) followed by the present participle of the main verb (waiting).

2. I was surfing the net in my room when I heard the cat meowing loudly. I didn't need to feed the cat because I had fed it ten minutes before.

In this sentence, we need to use the past continuous form of the verb "to surf" because the action was happening in the past. The past continuous form is formed by using the past tense of "to be" (was) followed by the present participle of the main verb (surfing).

We also need to use the past perfect form of the verb "to have" because the action of feeding the cat happened before the action of hearing it meowing. The past perfect form is formed by using the past tense of "to have" (had) followed by the past participle of the main verb (fed).

3. We saw David and said hello to him. We invited him to go to the cinema with us, but he was too tired because he had been studying for the test all day long.

In this sentence, we need to use the past simple form of the verb "to invite" because the action of inviting happened in the past. The past simple form is the base form of the verb.

We also need to use the past perfect continuous form of the verb "to study" because the action of studying happened continuously in the past. The past perfect continuous form is formed by using the past tense of "to have" (had) followed by been and the present participle of the main verb (studying).

Hope this helps! Let me know if you have any other questions.
