6.6.17.1 Read the theory. Then choose
the correct pronouns.
We use:
who/that for people. George is the man who/that
drives the school bus.
which/that for animals or things. The train on
platform 2 is the one which/that goes to London.
• whose to show possession. That's the woman
whose bus ticket I found on the ground.
A defining relative clause gives necessary
information and is essential to the meaning of the
main sentence. We never put it in commas. The man
who/that lives next door is a pilot.
