She was born in England in 1890 and during her lifetime wrote 66 detective novels and six romantic novels. She died in 1976. She created two famous characters, the Belgian detective Hercule Poirot and the British character Miss Marple. Agatha Christie has sold over two billion books. Her stories have been popular around the world and people have read them in over 103 different languages.
