Ramon, you’re Spanish, so why did you come to England? When I was a teenager, I always wanted to visit England. Then I found a job with a film production company and came to London to work. It’s a dream come true! At the moment I’m living in a flat in Wimbledon, and I travel to work by train. I don’t really enjoy that. I have a long walk to the train station, and then I stand in the train for forty-five minutes with hundreds of other people. I hardly ever sit.
What’s your flat like?
I can’t afford to live in the centre of London, but one day I want to move there! My flat’s quite small, but Wimbledon is a great part of London, and there are lots of interesting shops in the area. Of course, my Spanish cousins sometimes visit me. Unfortunately, my visitors sleep on the floor because my flat only has one bedroom! But I’m very lucky to live in one of the world’s most exciting cities. I can find my favourite things here: great music, art, history, sport ...
Have you visited other parts of England?
Yes, I often go to different places for my job. Last month we were filming in a small village. It was so different from London! It was quiet and there were woods, hills and a river. When I’m rich one day, I’ll have a small house there!
What about the food in England?
The supermarkets in London have got food from all over the world, and I can find lots of Spanish food: sausages, vegetables, olive oil … and there are lots of Spanish restaurants. But I also enjoy trying food from other countries. My favourite is Chinese!
And the weather?
The weather here is terrible! Even English people say that.
