Also it is famous for its seven days of festivities. Naturally, each day involves pancakes, butter and many indulgent toppings, as Russians celebrate the arrival of warm Spring.  Sunday is the final day, day of forgiving - when people forgive wrongs done against them and burn the Maslenitsa mascot, a straw doll dressed in a female costume with a pancake in her hand.
