Astana is located in the center of Kazakhstan in the dry steppe zone, the subzone of dry fescue-feather grass steppes. The territory of the city is a low terrace above the floodplain. The Yesil River is the main water artery of the capital. The climate is sharply continental - cold and prolonged winter and hot, moderately arid summer.
The city has become one of the largest business centers in Kazakhstan. Business culture is dynamically developing - in Astana there are more than 128 thousand subjects of small and medium business.
