The Marinara is the
older of the two has a
topping of tomato, oregano, garlic
and orra oil. It is named Marinara not because it has
seafood on it (it doesn't), but because it was the food
prepared by la mannara, the fisherman's wife, for her
Shusband when he returned from fishing rips in the Bay of
Naples
Alargherita pizza hao a topping at tomato, basit and
mozzarella cheese. It was invented in 1889 by Italian chal
Raffaele Esposito to honour the visit of Queen Margherita of
Savoy to Naples. Queen Margheria was visiting Naples to
escape a cholera epidemic in the north of Italy. She asked
Esposito to make her three different pizzas. Her favourite
one had the colours of the Takan flag - green (basil leajes),
white (mozzarella), and Ted Tomatoes) - Ont. The Queen
wote a tetter to Esposito telling him how much shanked his
pizza, and Esposito decided to name after her.
Today, many Italians - not just those living in Naples - still
prefer these two true' pizzas to all others!​
