So, I really have a mixed opinion on this problem. If your friend is "bad" and skips school, steals stuff, has gotten arrested or done anything illegal, your parents can tell you not to make friends with him or her. But you should be free to choose your friends.

  I think you should be the one to choose, because you don't want to hang out with someone your parents think who will be a good friend. But I think your parents should be the ones to judge, because they know that friends sometimes aren't really friends.
