Independence Day is a new holiday in our country. On the 12th of June, 1992, the first President of Russia was elected. The document of the country's independence was signed in 1990. Then all the former republics of the USSR became independent. Later "Independence Day of Russia" became simply "Day of Russia". On this day, in addition to Russia's independence, the first president was chosen by the people.
