Ufa is the capital of the Republic Bashkortostan. It is a large industrial, scientific and cultural centre of the country located in the East of Europe. It is a commercial industrialized centre of Bashkortostan. People of many nationalities live in this city. Ufa's population is over one million people. Being the capital of a multicultural and multinational republic Ufa represents a bright mixture of lifestyles, religions and cultures. The date of foundation refers to the year of 1574 when a fortress was erected to defend Bashkir people and their land from the devastating raids of the Siberian nomads. In 2014 Ufa celebrated its 440-year anniversary. The capital of Bashkortostan lies upon a peninsula, occupying an elevated plateau encompassed from the three sides by the Aghidel (the Belaya), the Ufa and the Dyoma rivers. As in the whole of the Urals, the climate here is continental. Winters are normally snowy and cold and summers are hot.  

It's not surprising that Ufa numbers seven universities, many colleges, technical schools and other educational organizations. One of the most prestigious and expensive of them is Ufa State Petroleum Technological University which trains specialists in the oil and gas industry. The Bashkir State University, Medical University, Aviation University, Pedagogical Institute and others provide a wide range of specialists.

You can also call Ufa the city of contrasts.  There are many buildings - theatres, banks, shopping and entertainment centres designed in an original and modern style. Next, to such buildings, you can find very old ones: one- or two-storied houses made of brick and wood.  Ufa is one of the greenest  cities in our country.

The variety of age and interests of the citizens differs greatly. There are theatres, museums, cinemas (e.g. "Pobeda", "Iskra"), sports centres (e.g. "Biathlon") which are popular among different age groups. Many other cultural and entertainment centres, restaurants, bistros and night clubs are: "Caravansarai", "The Ufa Lights", "Aerocity", "Scorpion", "Ch", ''White horse", "Night City", etc. They have been built for the last several years. Ufa is my native city and I love it very much.

Башкирский государственный университет, медицинский университет, авиационный университет, педагогический институт и другие учебные заведения готовят широкий спектр специалистов.

Уфу можно назвать городом контрастов.  Здесь много зданий-театры, банки, торгово-развлекательные центры, оформленные в оригинальном и современном стиле. Рядом с такими постройками можно встретить очень старые: одно - или двухэтажные дома кирпичные и деревянные. В целом Уфа - один из самых зелёных городов в нашей стране.

Они были построены в течение последних нескольких лет. Уфа-мой родной город, и я его очень люблю.
