Alexei Yurievich Nemov (Russian: Алексей Юрьевич Немов; born 28 May 1976 in Barashevo, Mordovia) is a former artistic gymnast from Russia and one of the most celebrated gymnasts of all time. During his career, he won five world championships, three European championships and twelve Olympic medals.

Alexey Yuryevich Nemov was born on May 28, 1976 in the village of Barashevo of the Mordovian Autonomous Soviet Socialist Republic (now the Republic of Mordovia). His parents divorced, his mother worked in a kindergarten and raised her son alone. Alexey spent his childhood in the city of Togliatti
