Most people would expect this to be true. After all, who doesn't feel happier when the sun is shining? But global surveys continually show that some of the happiest countries in the world are colder than average. The northern European countries of Norway, Denmark and Sweden are all in the top five of the Legatum Prosperity Index, which measures how happy a country is. To be fair, weather probably isn't very important in these surveys: they measure other factors like education, health and safety. But it does go to show that it takes more than sunny weather to make us feel good.
