Hairstylist is a great creative profession that inspires me. A hair expert is able to
create beautiful hairstyles and interesting haircuts changing a person’s appearance
beyond recognition.
You can become a hairstylist if you finish a special college that gives you a degree
or you can finish special courses for hairstyling. But I believe that an education does not
play an important role in hairstyling. It allows you to learn the technology and the way
different things are done but it does not mean you will succeed because you should have
talent for that.
Only a person who has esthetic taste and sense of style will be able to become a master,
succeed and will make a career in beauty industry. Creative approach to work is also
important for a hairstylist as well as the ability to communicate with clients and find
solutions that they will like.
Many people think that hairstyling is a profession that does not require intellectual
work but I think it is wrong. For example, if a hairstylist has to do highlights or dye
someone’s hair blonde then he has to know chemistry. He also should understand the
effect the dye can have on scalp and skin which means he should know anatomy and have
some medical knowledge as well.
That’s what kind of a specialist I would like to become — educated, creative and
being able to find a right approach to every client. I hope I will be able to make my dream
come true in the future.
