The First Snow
Walking dreamily ... ... my warm room ... the kitchen, I noticed
that all the rooms ... the house seemed brighter than usual ... that
morning. I looked ... ... astonishment ... the coating pure white show
... the floor ... our porch. My eyes shifted ... the yard and I saw layers
upon layers ... freshly fallen snow piled our yard, t wanted to
keep the snow ... my yard fresh and smooth. I wanted to protect even
the bushes ... the wind. Everything looked so beautiful and quiet.
I turned ... a few lights ... the kitchen and the Christmas lights as
well. I sat ... the window ... my pink flannel nightgown watching the
wind blowing and shifting the waves ... my white sea.
Then I walked ... ... my room, hurriedly threw ... some clothes and
ran ... the cellar to grab my sled.
