a) "how long have you been cutting grass, bill? ' asked tom
"i've been cutting it since 9 o'clock" bill said
b) "how long have you been collecting stamps, andy? " asked peter.
"i've been collecting stamps for about three years" andy answered.
c) "how long has it been snowing? " asked jack
"it has been snowing for a week " answered ted
d) "how long has she been speaking on the phone? " father asked mother
"it seems to me she's been speaking since she came for school" said mother
