Diwali is an important festival in my country. it's a festival of lights, which lasts five days. before, the whole family preparates for it: we put up colourful decorations in homes, visit relatives, children make special festive lamps, cook festive meals and exchange gifts. in the evening, we light lamps and pray to lakshmi, the goddess of wealth. finally, there is an exciting fireworks display.
