1) Imagine walking along narrow beams hundreds of feet above the ground!

2) The tallest building in the world is considered the Burj Khalifa, in the United Arab Emirates. With over 1200 shops, this building is a city in itself.

3) Between 1930 and 1931, the Empire State Building almost grew. one floor higher every day. The 3400 people who worked on it completed it in 14 months.

The author wanted to convey that there are such large buildings as skyscrapers and only the sky above them.
