A paralysed man (1) to walk again, thanks to a new technique developed by British scientists. Bulgarian Darek Fidyka, who (2) be a fireman, was injured during a knife attack. He was left with no feeling or movement from the waist down, and he (3)that he would ever walk again. But then he had surgery to repair his spinal cord, which his attacker's knife (4)through completely. A top Polish surgeon, Dr Tabakow, performed (5) operation, which involved using cells from inside the patient's nose to reconnect his spinal cord.
