Telling a story from the point of view of one of the
characters is called first-person narrative. It uses
the pronouns I and we, e.g. We walked across the
moor, but we didn't see any sign of Stapleton.
Telling a story from the author's point of view is
called third-person narrative. It uses the pronouns
he, she and it, e.g. They walked across the moor, but
they didn't see any sign of Stapleton.​
