6 Read the notice from a student magazine and write your story We want stories for our magazine. Your story must begin with this sentence: When Miles looked out of the window, he could see a light in the distance. Your story must include: a journey. a difficult or scary situation. In your story you should: • give background information, - describe the main events. • make sure you have a clear beginning, middle and end. say how the story ended and what the consequences were. Use a variety of past tenses, participle clauses, adjectives and adverbs, as well as some of these phrases: Last weekend.../Two years ago.../ On Saturday night ... . At first .../Then.../Next ... / After that... - Finally ... / In the end...
