1. Form the degrees of comparison for the given adjectives:

1. nice - nicer, nicest
To form the comparative degree, we add "-er" to the adjective. To form the superlative degree, we add "-est" to the adjective.

2. short - shorter, shortest
3. Young - younger, youngest
4. new - newer, newest
5. old - older, oldest
6. careful - more careful, most careful
For some adjectives with two or more syllables, we use "more" before the adjective to form the comparative degree. We use "most" before the adjective to form the superlative degree.

7. modern - more modern, most modern
8. popular - more popular, most popular
9. dangerous - more dangerous, most dangerous
10. expensive - more expensive, most expensive
11. little - littler, littlest or less, least (This adjective has irregular comparative and superlative forms)
12. bed - bigger, biggest (This adjective has irregular comparative and superlative forms)
13. good - better, best (This adjective has irregular comparative and superlative forms)
14. much/many - more, most

This way, we have formed the comparative and superlative degrees for each of the given adjectives.
