An Unexpected Visitor
We live near a small military air base and we like to watch the planes fly over. One sunny
aftemoon, my mother and I had tea in the garden.
Then, we heard a loud cry. "Watch out!" Suddenly, a soldier landed on the table. Mum
and I fell off our chairs in surprise.
When I looked up, the soldier was on the broken table with a parachute over his head! “I'm so
sorry!" he said. "My parachute didn't open on time! Mum and I both looked at him strangely,
then we all began to laugh. "I'm afraid there isn't any tea for you!" mum said cheerfully.
Fortunately, we were all okay. The next day, the soldier came back with a huge box of cakes
for us. We all had tea together, but this time we sat in the dining room!​
