The power of a word

Read the text about poetry and decide if the statements are Right (R) or Wrong (W). 

Poetry



Poetry is a form of literature that presents original and rhythmic qualities of language. Poetry has a long history. Poetic forms follow the rules in their structure. There are many forms of poetry such as sonnets, limericks, haikus and many others.

Sonnets are logical in their structure. They are about fourteen lines which follow a rhyme. They are usually about love. A limerick is a poem that consists of five lines. Limericks are often humorous. All the lines in limericks must rhyme and have the same rhythm. Haiku is a popular form of Japanese poetry. They usually do not rhyme. Haiku is written in vertical lines.

1. It is necessary to keep the rules in the structure of poetry.

2. Limericks usually consist of five lines which are about love.
