How did drama first start?
Nobody knows when drama appeared as a genre of art. But everybody knows that the first dramatic
acting was very popular in ancient Greece. It began as a simple storytelling, when a storyteller
appealed to the audience adopting different voices, roles and costumes. The Greeks loved such
performances and in this way the drama became popular with the audience. Interestingly, there were
no actresses on the stage, and that is why the whole troupe consisted of actors only. Even now drama
is famous for the actors' ability tomake the audience "believe in" their speech, movement, thoughts,
and feelings.
