Student 2: And, secondly, you must have a good tape measure.

Teacher: You both are quite right. Let’s start. What should one bear in mind while measuring bust?

Student 3: It’s necessary to measure snuggly around the fullest part of the bust and straight across the back.

Teacher: Right. Don’t forget to hold the tape high under the arms. Nothing special in measuring waist, isn’t it?

Student 4:Yes, just measure at natural waistline.

Teacher: What about measuring hips? Which points should you touch?

Student 5: Usually the fullest part of hips.

Teacher: Quite right. Let’s remember which measurements are used to define pattern sizes for different clothes.

Student 6: First, it’s necessary to decide on one’s figure type which is based on one’s height and the length from one’s back neck to waist. Then take your bust measurements and you’ll have your size for dresses, suits and coats.
