Gerda and Kay were a sister and a brother. The Snow Queen was beautiful but evil (злая). Her castle of ice was in the far North. When the Snow Queen took Kay away, Gerda went to find him. On the way she saw the Prince and the Princess They were very friendly to Gerda. They gave her warm clothes and a golden carriage (карета). The Little Robber Girl was nice to her too. She gave Gerda her reindeer (олень) to take her to Lapland. The reindeer was from Lapland, so he took Gerda there to look for Kay. It was very cold in the Snow Queen’s castle. Gerda was brave, she saved Kay. They were happy again.
