На территории России насчитывается 11 часовых поясов. Климатические условия достаточно разнообразные: от арктических и умеренных, до континентальных и субтропических. Наша страна является одной из самых богатых по природным ресурсам страной мира, где есть: нефть, природный газ, уголь, различные руды, черные и цветные металлы и другие полезные ископаемые.
Российская Федерация является многонациональным государством. Она состоит из многих национальных округов, несколько автономных республик и регионов. Население страны составляет около 140 миллионов человек.
Москва-столица нашей Родины. Это крупнейший политический, научный, культурный и промышленный центр страны и один из красивейших городов мира. Официальным языком государства является русский язык. Национальными символами Российской Федерации являются бело-сине-красное знамя и двуглавый орел.
Российская Федерация является конституционной Республикой во главе с президентом. Правительство страны состоит из трех ветвей: законодательной, исполнительной и судебной. Президент контролирует только исполнительную власть - правительство, но не Верховный суд и не Федеральное Собрание.
Законодательная власть принадлежит Федеральному Собранию, состоящему из двух палат: Совета Федерации (Верхняя палата) и Государственной Думы (нижняя палата). Каждая палата возглавляется спикером. Исполнительная власть принадлежит правительству (кабинету Министров) во главе с премьер-министром. Судебная власть принадлежит системе судов, состоящей из Конституционного Суда, Верховного Суда и федеральных судов.
В нашей стране действует многопартийная система. Крупнейшими и самыми влиятельными  политическими партиями являются ''Единство'' -( существовала до 2001года), КПРФ, ''Отечество- вся Россия''(до 2002года!), ''Союз правых сил'', ''Яблоко'', Либерально-демократическая и некоторые другие.
Внешняя политика Российской Федерации-это политика международного сотрудничества, мира и дружбы со всеми народами, независимо от их политической и социальной систем.
