sources of employees. it is better to look for candidates than to wait for their coming to your company. the possible sources of workers are:
- private and public employment agencies usually for a fee can help find the right person,
- high schools, technical schools, colleges or universities offer help to employers,
- radio and television announcements, advertisements in newspapers, references of friends, customers, employees etc.
the application form. it must fit the needs of the company and be legal. their objective is to give the personnel manager enough information about applicants' qualification. the applicant should be encouraged to discuss questions of the application. the interview should take enough time to obtain all the necessary information.
the employment interview. before conducting an interview, the interviewer should read the application or resume, clarify certain questions and then make a decision.
testing the applicant. many forms of tests are used to find out applicant's skills and suitability for the position. the type of the work to be performed determines the type of the test to be used.
references. before deciding to hire an individual, the references should be checked. references are people who have known the applicant for some time and their information may be helpful.
employee training includes any activity that provides information or the
development of skills that improves the employee's work. there are 2 types of
training: on-the-job training and formal one. sometimes such forms of training are called upgrading courses.
