Спереводом obtaining the data used as a basis for land evaluation is connected with a need to prepare cadastre according to residential areas. emergence of cadastre is deeply rooted into ancient times. thus, the early information on cadastral survey carried out to register the lands in ancient egypt indicating boundaries and areas of the land plots dates from 3000 bc. anyhow the term “cadastre” widely-used in the world practice has been in use since the time of august, the roman emperor (27 bc – 4 ad) when there was adopted registration unit for collecting the land contribution called “caputigum” and introduced the population registration “caputigum registrum”. eventually these words merged into one –“capitastrum” and later into the word “catastrum”. as a matter of fact the jobs dealing with population registration, land division into plots, an exact measurement of their borders, determination of the land quality, mapping these areas and plotting on the stones their borders, numbers, juridical status, the name of land owner and amount of tax were the first cadastre of the roman empire. in the middle ages the contents of cadastral surveying and the main principals of keeping land cadastre did not change practically. land surveying remained purely linear and was carried out using rope and rod; there was not applied geometrical knowledge and calculations.
