At the railway station he meets three other boys from his group. They all have small backpacks and fishing rods. In less than an hour they get off the train at a small station near a wood. 2. It rained all day long the day before yesterday and I didn't go shopping.
Во втором предложении используем глагол в прошедшем времени (Past Simple) в форме третьего лица единственного числа, так как сказуемое в предложении относится к прошлому времени. Вторая часть предложения отрицательная и для этого используется отрицательная форма вспомогательного глагола "did" и базовая форма глагола (go) после него.

3. When my parents were young, they didn't have their own flat and they had to rent a room.
