About a hundred years AGO trams were running up and down the Arbat, but now it is a pedestran street, and no cars are allowed there. The Arbat is FULL of cafes,restaurants and shops of all sorts. There are also many souvenir stands on the Arbat and this is why it is so POPULAR with tourists.  At night you can come to the Arbat to listen TO concerts of street musicians.
