Novosibirsk Zoo - one of the largest zoos in Russia. It occupies an area of 60 hectares, it contains about 11 000 birds 702 [1] species. More than 120 species listed in the International Red Book. About 180 species listed in the Red Book of Russia and regional Red Books. 56 species is an international studbook. The Novosibirsk Zoo involved in breeding cats and weasels, so here is one of the world's finest collections of representatives of these families. Zoo team participates in 45 international programs for the conservation of rare and endangered animals. Is a member of 3 international unions: the EAZA (European Association of Zoos and Aquariums), EARAZA (Euro-Asian Regional Association of Zoos and Aquariums), AZA (International Association of Zoos and Aquariums). Participates in the international computer program ISIS.
