Well, my friend and I went to Crete island (Greece) this summer. This is the largest and most populous of the Greek islands with appropriate prices and obliging people. And we were excited to go there at last.
We traveled by plane and it took 4 hours to get there, so I was a bit exhausted from the journey. But felt much better when warm sun rays touched my face.
We stayed at the 3 star hotel. It was modest but contemporary and cozy. To add to this, breakfast was included , that's why we hadn't got any problems to eat. Moreover, that was the tourist area with variety of cafes and food courts.
Every other day we went to the clear sandy beach by the Mediterranean Sea. I missed the Sea much. The weather was really hot (about plus 30-35 degrees) , also it was pretty warm at night too, so we didn't have any desire to go back hotel anymore!
As for my luggage; I got some t - shirts of different colors, a pair of shorts, a cap, sunglasses and a couple of my favorite sneakers. In fact, all clothes were simple to wear and change if it's necessary.
Needless to say, I tried to sunbathed quite carefully , cause I bewared to get burn.
Some day we took an unfogettaable sightseeing to mountains of Crete. It took all day long but it was worth doing that. Firstly that was off road by the tracks and then we were climbing the mountains to have a great view of the nature. I tried following everything our guide told us. And at last, on the top of the mountain we could see the most amazing landscapes, forests, rivers, waterfalls and ancient stones of Crete! It was very exciting to realize how small you are among this wild nature. After that we were offered to taste delicious local wine . Certainly, I took lots of pictures there , which I'm gonna keep lots of years. By the way, plenty of other people of different nationalities climbed there too.
Well, I spent in Greece two weeks swimming, sunbathing, walking, sightseeing, playing table tennis and riding a bike. It seems to me, I even got a bit younger! Nevertheless, by the end of the trip we were tired cause we weren't used to living in such a hot country.
Eventually, if some day you are in Greece you will have definitely have to attend Crete. That's an awesome island with friendly people and picturesque places. I never felt better before and I'm happy to get there one day!
