Graphical User Interface
The set of ways a user interacts with programs and devices on a computer is called the user interface. It includes the ability to set commands (for example, to run programs), types and methods of output of computer messages, and so on.there Are differences between the command interface (command-line interface, console mode, text interface) and the graphical interface.
Team interaction with the computer is one of the oldest. The main control device in this case is the keyboard. The user enters special control commands (text instructions) in a specific line, called the command line. Special invitation characters are displayed at the beginning of this line. They indicate that the computer is waiting for commands from the user. Execution of a command begins after it is approved, for example, by pressing the Enter key.
The graphical interface is implemented using graphical tools. This is a more complex type of interface where a mouse or other positioning device can be used as a control other than the keyboard.
Windows are a characteristic feature of the graphical interface. A window is a rectangular area of the screen where program information is displayed. Each program has at least one window for user interaction.
Modern graphical user interface — multi-window, it is designed for simultaneous work with several programs and data exchange between them. The user can work with programs alternately, switching from one window to another. However, you can only enter information in one window at a time, which is called the currently active window. It is placed on top of other Windows.
The window can be in one of three States:
-maximum (expanded to full screen).
-normal (takes up part of the screen);
-minimal (collapsed): the window is not visible on the screen, only the button with the name of the program or document is displayed.
There are several types of Windows that are defined by the information displayed in them.
The main types of Windows:
-folder window;
-application window (program).
-dialog box;
-help window (a type of dialog box, but it uses hyperlinks to go to various help sections).
