The Kamchatka brown bear weighs 400 kg and is 2.50 m tall. It has big teeth and long sharp claws. Those bears are quite peaceful. For most of the year they live in thick forests and eat berries, nuts and roots. In summer there is a lot of salmon that the Kamchatka brown bear likes really much. They travel hundreds of kilometres to live next to the rivers and catch the salmon. They are good swimmers and their thick fur keeps them warm in the ice-cold water. In autumn they go back to the forest.  There they make a warm den where they spend the winter.
