My favorite sports star is Eldos Smetov. Smetov Eldos Bakhtybayevich (born September 9, 1992 in Taraz, Zhambyl region) is a Kazakh judoka, master of sports of international class. Silver medalist of the XXXI Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro, world champion (Astana, 2015),World Youth Champion (2010), Asian champion (Tashkent, 2016), three-time winner of the International Tournament "Grand Prix", bronze medalist of the Asian Youth Championship (Bangkok, 2013), winner of the Asian Games (Incheon, 2014). Eldos is studying at the Faculty of biology and biotechnology at the Al-Farabi Kazakh National University. His father is an individual entrepreneur, and his mother is engaged in household chores. Eldos Smetov has been actively involved in sports since the age of 5, following the example of his brother Zhandos Smetov, a professional judoka. In 1998, at the age of 6, he won his first victory at the Republican tournament held in Almaty. Later, Eldos Smetov studied at sports boarding schools in Astana and Almaty.
