Kyiv is the capital of Ukraine. It is one of the oldest and most beautiful cities in Europe. It was founded more than fifteen cen¬turies ago. There are many place of interest there.

Maidan Nezalezhnosti is the heart of Kyiv. It’s the place of the “Orange Revolution”. Khreschatyk Street is the main street of Kyiv. It is lined with chestnut trees, the symbol of the city. There is a modern Hlobus centre here.

Kyievo-Pechers’ka Lavra is one of the most famous places of Kyiv. About 200 000 people visit it every year. Kyiv is situated on the Dnipro river. From the banks of the Dnipro we can admire the beautiful panorama of Kyiv churches.

Kyiv is the largest centre of national Ukrainian culture.

There are 20 museums, 1300 libraries, 41 theatres, 121 parks in Kyiv.

About 3 million people live in the capital.

Kyiv is the pride of the Ukrainian people.
