Isa Konoevich Ahunbaev was born on 25th
September, 1908 in Toru-Aigyr village near
Issyk-Kul lake. In 1916, his family moved
to China where Isa Konoevich spent all his
childhood. When he was 15, he returned
back to Kyrgyzstan and started going to the
village school. Every day, in any kind of
weather he had to walk 20 kilometres to
school and back home.
In 1925, Isa Konoevich went to Frunze (now Bishkek) and then to
Tashkent to continue his education. In Tashkent, he became a student
